Refund Policy
Last updated: Draft -- not yet in effect
This is how refunds work for a paid jot.co.zm plan. It’s part of the Terms of Service. The Free plan needs no card and nothing on it is ever charged, so this page only applies once you’ve upgraded.
New subscriptions -- 7 days, no questions asked
If the first charge on a new paid plan doesn’t work out for you, email support@jot.co.zm within 7 days of that charge and we’ll refund it in full, no reason required. This applies whether you paid monthly or annually, and your plan ends immediately once the refund is issued.
Renewals
A renewal charge -- monthly or annual -- isn’t refunded once it’s gone through, since it pays for access you’ve already had for that period. You can cancel or downgrade at any time to stop future renewals; it takes effect at the end of your current billing period, you keep full access until then, and nothing you’ve built is deleted when you move to the Free plan.
Annual plans, after the first 7 days
Paying annually is a bigger upfront commitment, so it gets a longer safety net than a monthly plan’s renewal does. If you cancel an annual plan after the first 7 days, email us and we’ll refund the unused full months remaining in that year, calculated from the month you cancel in. The current and any already-elapsed month aren’t refunded.
Billing mistakes
A duplicate charge, a charge after a cancellation you’d already confirmed, or a charge for the wrong amount is always refunded in full -- that one has no time limit beyond a reasonable lookback period, and no exceptions.
What isn’t refunded
- Usage-based overage on Business/API once the links it paid for have actually been created.
- Any charge on an account suspended for violating the Acceptable Use section of the Terms of Service.
- Enterprise invoices, which follow the payment terms in your specific agreement rather than this page.
How a refund is paid
We refund to the original payment method. Card refunds typically reflect within 5-10 business days; mobile money reversals depend on your provider’s own processing time, which can occasionally take a little longer and is outside our control once we’ve issued the refund on our end.
How to request one
Email support@jot.co.zm with the email address on your account and, if you have it, the date of the charge. We respond directly, not through an automated ticket queue.
